I am addicted to green smoothies! They take a few minutes to prepare, are packed with ingredients that are alkalising, anti-inflammatory, detoxifying, full of fibre....and taste AMAZING! I love that a giant green smoothie in the morning (for breakfast or as a mid-morning snack) means that I have had a healthy dose of raw vegetables before lunch – giving me lots of energy.
Green smoothies are a brilliant way to start your day.
Here are some ingredients you can use to whip up your glass of green goodness!
Pick Your Favourite Liquid Base (2-3 cups)
Almond or Skim Milk
Choose Your Leafy Greens (3 cups)
Spinach (my favourite)
Add Some Fresh/Frozen Fruit (1-2 cups)
Supercharge Your Smoothie – Add as many as you like! (1 heaped teaspoon)
Add A Natural Sweetener – Optional! (1 teaspoon)
If this is a post-workout drink - add some protein powder to fuel your body and aid muscle recovery.
Blend It Up – Blend until smooth, serve over ice and make smug faces and inappropriate yummy noises.
