Healthy Chocolate Shake

Oh my.....this is probably about the creamiest chocolate shakes you’ll have that - yessss - is totally healthy enough to call breakfast or a pre or post-workout snack. And guess what? It contains spinach, which my guinea pig brother in law couldn't taste at all. This healthy green is full of vitamins, antioxidants and minerals so is an excellent (hidden) nutritional addition to the shake.

Creamy, chocolaty and perfectly sweet.

Play around with this recipe to make it your favourite! You can add more cocoa powder to make the shake even chocolateier. Use the milk you prefer and swap out the peanut butter for any nut butter you fancy. Add some protein powder to the shake – and you’ll have the most delicious pre or post-workout snack. I promise you can't taste the spinach so I highly recommend sneaking in some for a greens boost!

This also makes the perfect dessert when you want something creamy, chocolaty and cold. Try it! Trust me, you will love it!

Ingredients For Two

2 frozen ripe bananas

2-3 heaped tablespoons cocoa powder

2 tablespoons peanut butter (or sub any nut butter)

1.5-2 cups milk (almond, coconut, rice or other milk) - add more or less for a thinner or thicker shake

¼ cup ice

Optional

1 tbsp flaxseed powder

1 scoop of chocolate protein powder

A handful of spinach

Instructions

Add all ingredients to the blender and blitz.

Enjoy your power breakfast or workout snack!*

* Best when fresh but you could even freeze this into popsicles!
